ChkDOBBS is a utility for a FrontDoor 2.xx and Wildcat 3.xx setup. ChkDOBBS
starts by reading DOBBS.BAT (created by FrontDoor) and extracting the baud
rate, event time, and modem flags. With this data it then creates CALLWC.BAT
in your Wildcat home directory which contains the correct command line
parameters for loading Wildcat. It also scans the modem flags for /ARQ, /MNP, /HST, /V32, /V32B, or /REL and determines whether or not to pass the MNP (error-correction enabled) flag to Wildcat.
Operating ChkDOBBS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ChkDOBBS can be run manually or in a batch file, it does not make any sounds,
and no user interaction is necessary. ChkDOBBS accepts 1 parameter:
CHKDOBBS [D:\{ WILDCAT DIR }]
The parameter is the path to your Wildcat home directory. This is where
CALLWC.BAT is written.
ChkDOBBS Error Messages
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If ChkDOBBS encounters an error it will display an error message for that
error. There are 5 different messages internally, and a whole set of
"Runtime" errors which may occur during operation. The 5 messages are:
(1) "Syntax: ..." - you'll get this error if you didn't include any command
line parameters when calling ChkDOBBS.
(2) "Invalid Event Parameter!" - what you entered for event control was not
between 0 and 1440 or is unacceptable.
(3) "DOBBS.BAT Not Found ..." - you should be calling ChkDOBBS from the
FrontDoor directory.
(4) "Unable To Open DOBBS.BAT!" - something went wrong when ChkDOBBS tried
to read DOBBS.BAT.
(5) "Unable To Create CALLWC.BAT!" - something went wrong when ChkDOBBS
tried to create CALLWC.BAT.
If you receive a "Runtime Error nnn at xxxx:yyyy" then something went wrong
